Virtual Zoom Bingo FAQs
What's Zoom, how do I get it and how do I use it?
Zoom is an online video conferencing software that allows you to virtually interact with people. Zoom is FREE. To participate you must have wi-fi and you need to have the Zoom app on your device (desktop, laptop or smart phone). However, you do NOT need to set up an account unless you are going to host meetings. If it’s your first time using Zoom, we encourage to watch this YouTube tutorial: Joining a Zoom Meeting for the First Time—A Cozy Step-by-Step Guide
Do you offer a practice session on Zoom?
There will be an opportunity to test your Zoom skills on Saturday, September 12 at 4:00pm so you feel confident on game night. If you are interested in participating you need to email Guy Nemiro or call him at 323.359.3000 so that he can send you a Zoom invite.
What if I still have questions about Zoom?
Yes, The Art House staff are available to troubleshoot any issues with Zoom that you might have; please email Guy Nemiro or call him at 323.359.3000.
How can I make sure everything will be working properly?
Join the practice session on Saturday, September 12 at 4:00pm. If you are interested in participating you need to email Guy Nemiro or call him at 323.359.3000 so that he can send you a Zoom invite. We also encourage you to sign in at 5:45pm on game nights — 15 minutes in advance of the 6:00pm start time.
What is the bingo board and how do I use the board?
We will send you a link via email a day or two before the bingo event. The link will take you to a website that will provide you a bingo card to print out on a printer. You can also save the card on your computer, tablet or phone to use during the game. If you don't have a printer, and don't want to play right on your device, you can draw your bingo card on a piece of paper and refer to the drawing during the game. The card is good for 4 games during the evening. The card can NOT be used for future games. If you purchased additional cards, those, too, can only be used for the night you purchased them for.
Can the bingo card(s) I buy for one night be used for other nights?
No. You can only use the Bingo cards that you purchased for a specific night for that night. They are not valid for any other nights.
How will I follow what numbers are being called?
Bingo numbers will be called out loud just as they would in an in-person game and they will also be added to the chat window in Zoom so all players can see them during the game. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the game. YouTube tutorial: Joining a Zoom Meeting for the First Time—A Cozy Step-by-Step Guide
How many people will be playing?
Zoom can host up to 100 participants at a time, so space is limited. Since this is the our first time hosting virtual Bingo we anticipate much fewer people. We're hoping for at 25-50.
What if I signed up to play on multiple nights, will I get all my cards all at once?
No, a link to get your cards will be emailed to you one or two days before each game night you signed up for.
What if I forget or change my mind about playing, can I get a refund?
We're sorry but we can not provide refunds. All purchases are final, however, please note all proceeds go to the Los Angeles House of Ruth so your money will be going to help women and children in need — a winning cause indeed.
