The Los Angeles House of Ruth (LAHR) has built strong ties in the Los Angeles community through 43 years of service. We are able to break the cycle of homelessness and abuse for thousands thanks to the support of our amazing donors and partners.
The Union Pacific Railroad Foundation donated $10,000 for our newest shelter home! LAHR can now provide a safe & secure home for 16 more homeless women and children.
Thank you to Union Pacific for partnering with us in our endeavor to end the cycle of homelessness!
Whittier First 5 LA and East LA Community Corporation (ELACC)
In 2018, LAHR was awarded funding through a new partnership with Whittier First 5 LA and ELACC, fulfilling a long-time goal to better meet the needs of our community. The funding received from Whittier First 5 LA helps pay for rent and housing costs for families with children under age 5, while the funding from ELACC allowed us to open 10 units of our own permanent supportive housing.
Thanks to this new partnership, we are now able to offer more permanent housing than ever before to the families we serve in our shelters!
Deep Green Housing & Community Development
Deep Green Housing & Community Development has partnered with LAHR for many years providing supportive services and programs, along with multi-generational low-income housing.
This partnership has increased the availability of safe and affordable housing options in Los Angeles.
LAHR partners with Jovenes, a shelter for homeless young men. Our organizations share a thrift store as well as programs, when appropriate. LAHR offers jobs to Jovenes’ clients as donation pick up drivers.
